Bong Cases
Bong Cases
Glass is fragile. Bongs are made of glass. Thus, bongs are fragile. It’s simple logic, but most of us have to learn this lesson the hard way. If you are a regular marijuana smoker, ask yourself, how many bongs you have broken in your cannabis career. The answer is probably at least one; you have probably been responsible for breaking at least some type of glass bong, pipe or rig once in your cannabis career. And that’s okay! Because we’ve all done it.
Some of us have kicked 20-inch bongs off of coffee tables and had them shatter into a million pieces on the floor. Others have left their glass pipe on their back tire before going into a movie, only to forget about it two hours later and drive off without remembering. Or what about that time you went to your friend’s cottage and decided to take your rig. Remember when you unpacked it from the car and it was split cleanly in two?
Most of us can find a personal connection to these stories or stories just like them. If we haven’t personally broken our own bongs, then we’ve watched as our best friend or spouse accidentally knocked our rig off of the counter and onto the tile floor. It’s a reality, and it can be an expensive reality if we’re not careful.
So, what are we supposed to do? How can we avoid these predicaments? Well, one answer is protection. We can treat our bongs and rigs like we treat other, precious things that we wrap, secure and tie snugly. We can make sure there is padding between the glass and the outside world and we can make sure that the thing is tied so snugly that the chances of any movement are nearly impossible. We can use Bong Cases!
Bong Cases are the answer to most of our glass-shattering woes. Built with only one thing in mind – protecting your bong while it’s on the go – bong cases really are the ultimate source of protection when it comes to your glass.
Soft Cases
Soft Cases are cloth or polyester bags lined with padded tubes that hold your bong in place, providing at minimum, an inch of protective padding on all sides. A drawstring allows you to snugly secure your bong and squeeze the padding around the top, enabling you to carry the case with the shoulder strap while not worrying about anything sliding out. Most cases also come with multiple interior pockets so you can store your downstems, bowls, nails, domes, tools, etc. without anything rattling around inside and causing damage.
Soft Cases come in a variety of sizes and styles to suit your personal needs. For larger glass pieces like bongs, the cases come with shoulder straps so you can carry it on your body as you move. Others, designed for pipes, are much smaller and can fit into backpacks or travel bags. If you have ever owned a pair of nice glasses or sunglasses, you probably have had a hard-shell, cloth case to keep them in. These are very similar to pipe cases, except pipe cases are even more durable on the outside and have more padding on the inside.
Hard Cases
Hard Cases play a much different role than soft cases. While they both offer protection to our glass from the outside world, hard cases are inherently stronger, tougher and more durable. They are usually made of metal, like aluminum, or hard plastic, and are lined with foam, which can either be cut-out to fit certain shapes, or if it is already perforated, can simply be torn out to get the shape you want. By custom forming the foam inside of your hard case, your glass pieces slide perfectly into place and you don’t have to worry about them moving around while on the go. Another style is to have padded, vertical shelves which can be organized in a number of ways by sliding them into the slits, which line the interior walls.
Some hard cases also come with a lock and key. The larger ones have shelving below the foam to store accessories.
